In the French film “Signs that hurt”, we follow the life of Chloé, a deaf girl who suffered psychological violence from her father during her childhood. Although she breaks up with him, she realizes that the scars from the past don’t go away, but continue to shape her mental health and everyday life. The film talks about the universal problem of verbal abuse of children, to which thousands of children around the world are exposed.

Međutim, porodica i okolina ne pružaju podršku, što u njoj budi osećaj frustracije i zavisti prema sestri Palomi, koja postaje sve samostalnija. Dok tenzije rastu, Mer se suočava sa osećajem nerazumevanja i usamljenosti, čak i u auto-školi. Ipak, njena borba za pravo na samostalnost podseća porodicu da se iza želje za vožnjom krije dublja potreba – da odraste i pronađe svoj put.
In the Spanish film “Grandma’s House”, we follow Mer, a young girl with Down syndrome, who makes an important decision during her 18th birthday celebration – she wants to pass her driving test. However, the family and the environment do not provide support, which makes her feel frustrated and jealous of her sister Paloma, who is becoming more and more independent. As tensions rise, Mer faces feelings of incomprehension and loneliness, even at the driving school. However, her fight for the right to independence reminds the family that behind the desire to drive there is a deeper need – to grow up and find her own way.

Kada majka pokuša da je prisilno uda za starijeg muškarca, Halimina tiha pobuna izlazi na videlo na fudbalskom terenu, gde zadivljuje zajednicu svojim talentom. U tom trenutku njen otac prvi put javno staje uz nju, započinjući put promene, prihvatanja i borbe za pravo da bude svoja.
